09/27/2009: "We going to Didneyland!"

That's what Dessa's been telling us daily for about 3 weeks. And she's right, after a fashion. We are going - just not that day. Or the next day. Or for weeks at a time.

But today she's almost right because although we're not going to Disneyland today, or tomorrow, we are going on Tuesday. It's so weird that we could have a kid old enough to take to Disneyland. I'm not kidding myself into thinking that she'll remember much of this trip, but I do think it will register since she adores Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and can identify a good chunk of the movie characters. Her current favorite is 101 Dalmatians, though she favors Dumbo, too. She went through an Alice in Wonderland phase but has moved on. Methinks Fantasyland will be a hit.

My own birthday is on Thursday and I'm getting the best possible gift - sharing my favorite place in the world with my favorite person in it. How does it get better than that?

(Of course, jewelry doesn't hurt either. Just in case you were, you know, wondering...)
